Woohoo! I finally built up the courage to hit a box. They are kinda like rails but with a flat surface so its easier to keep yourself under control! Trish took a little video!
Every year Queenstown officially declares the winter season open with a week or so long festival full of fun events. I decided to get a bit involved with the local festivities. In a flier for Winterfest I noticed that they were looking for volunteers for a drum/percussion workshop. We spent two evenings learning a 5 minute piece in the local primary school’s hall with a NZ drumming group called STRIKE.
We performed the piece straight after the fireworks on the main stage! I’m one of the log drummers in the front

I just installed the Wordpress app on my iPod touch! It’s a pretty cool app that lets you post to your blog while you are on the move. I’m writing this post on it too.

A few weeks ago I finally got my act together and purchased a snowboard and some gear. I’m really going to go all out on learning how to ride this winter and I can’t wait till I get good!
I went to a big ski and snowboard gear sale and picked up an ex-rental snowboard for $85! I didn’t want to fork out the big bucks and spend hundreds on a board that I’d probably end up scratching the hell out of!I picked up some boots and bindings in the local shops in Queenstown. I decided on getting new boots and bindings as I have been told it’s really important to make sure they fit the best.

I’ve just installed WordPress 2.8 on my server. Now time to build myself a website for a change! Going to try and find a decent way of showing my portfolio and I really want to start blogging; you know, sharing interesting web development ideas & techniques, funny stories, personal thoughts, interesting links and stuff!
Now to try and implement Twitter, Last.fm and other social widgets
